Fooda, a lunchtime meal delivery service that got its start serving Near North Side office workers, is going national.
Founded in 2010, Fooda began as an informal system of bringing pop-up restaurants into the lobby of 600 W. Chicago Ave., an old riverfront building that is now a hive for Chicago's tech workers. The building — home to Groupon Inc., Lightbank Inc., Echo Global Logistics Inc., InnerWorkings Inc., Jump Trading LLC and others — hosts thousands of young employees, many of whom complained about the dearth of lunch options nearby.
