War vs Food: Aleppo Peppers Unavailable

Syria has lost the traditional areas where it's been grown, and the people to grow it.
Identical chiles from Turkey don't have the name Aleppo, aren't selling well.

Penzey's uses a Turkish variety, Spice House labels theirs as "Aleppo-style Mediterranean chilies"

Interesting - and sad! I did notice the similarity with Aleppo and some Gochugaru I have. And have a cookbook that calls for both Marash and Aleppo pepper, in different recipes.
