Well, it's been about 3 months since I visited this forum (or CH, for that matter) and I decided the time had come to register...and make my first posting here.
Here is a notice I just received about an event this weekend:
Invitation from Associacion Social Del Azuay of
Ecuador:
Dear Neighbors:
I would like to extend a warm invitation to have you
attend our seventh annual Ecuadorian Independence
parade and to inform all neighbors & business owners
that there will be a parade held on Montrose Ave.
starting at 12 Noon on Sunday, August 8, 2004. The
parade will commence at the intersection of California
and Montrose Avenue heading west down Montrose Avenue
and ending at Kimball Ave.
This year's festivities include the parade and the
Grand Festival which will be held that Sunday between
2:00 pm to 9:00pm. taking place for the first time on
Montrose Ave. between Kimball St. and St. Louis St.
with live bands as well as arts & crafts and food from
our native country.
We wish to extend a warm invitation to all or business
owners & neighbors to attend our one-day grand event.
Thank you for your kind consideration, we look forward
to your presence at our big event.
Of course, it was the "food from
our native country" part that caught my attention.
Has anyone been to this event in previous years?
