Catching up on LTH is getting intense (even the Tom Cruise thread) :)

Sexy pictures and lacy underwear take men's minds off getting a good deal.

It seems that the more macho a man is - at least according to his hormones - the more the sight of an attractive woman will affect his judgement.

Researchers at the University of Leuven in Belgium asked men to play an ultimatum game, in which they split a certain amount of money between them. High-testosterone men drove the hardest bargain - unless they had previously viewed pictures of bikini-clad models, in which case they were more likely to accept a poorer deal.

The sight of flesh had less effect on the bargaining tactics of low-testosterone men.

Full article here warning: a scantily clad woman is pictured (take appropriate caution if bidding/buying afterwards)

Lest someone think this is inappropriate here – of course it is totally appropriate. It could relate to what sort of deal one may get on the food at say Hooters or other places where one goes for, um, the articles.

One wonders whether it was this marketing insight that was behind the first lambchop frills. Who needs a massive T-bone when little rib chops look so fetching in white bloomers? Thanks, sazerac, for setting the record straight: all dining frivolities are not concessions to stereotypically feminine fastidiousness.''
Man : I can't understand how a poet like you can eat that stuff.
    T. S. Eliot: Ah, but you're not a poet.
