    Thanks for posting this link to the pic of our boy in Korea (with pink kimono and short haircut, looking a little like a young Elvis).

    It's peach! (not that there's anything wrong with pink)

    I've been kept away from the blog--been asking too many questions about Moonies.

    But I've eaten and taken pics of an embarrasingly huge variety of weird and delicious things. Forwarded an abbreviated list to Wiv (don't have anyone else's email, but I'm checking mine every few days or so) Reporting upon return unless our hosts are planning to eat us on the final day.

    live octopus, aka Korean Viagra (twice)
    fermented (rotted) skate (many times [repulsive])
    skate liver (unbelievably good) with orange sea salt
    raw chicken (dipped in salted sesame oil, excellent)
    many bizarre and unidentifiable shellfish and other invertebrates (some great, some not so)
    silkworm pupae
    2 year old kimchi
    3 year old kimchi
    4 year old kimchi
    raw crab a la San Chae Dolsot comes as panchan with almost every meal
    lots and lots of abalone
    tons of sashimi
    duck kalbi
    gallons of soju, beer, raspberry wine, and unfiltered rice wine
    piles and piles of unidentifiable roots and vegetables
    some disgusting black drink squeezed out of a root before my eyes that has me squirting black ink for the last three days
    chunky blood soup (for hangovers)
    fried fish guts
    turtle soup (w/ a large bisected turtle floater)
    rice steamed in bamboo
    stomach on a stick
    purple tofu (made with black beans
    Outback Steakhouse (yes, it's true)
    Sweet potato pizza with Kraft parmesan cheese and tabasaco (blecch)
    purple "rye" bread
    dried squid with cookies
    no dog yet. I don't think its gonna happen
