When I go to the blog page and click on the link "Subscribe to my feed," it opens a window concerning a file called "index.rdf" and asks if I want to find a file to open this with or save it. Neither of these options leads anywhere useful that I can see. This is the first RSS feed I've tried to subscribe to where this has happened.
i'd get a google reader account (free) and use it to track your subscriptions. You don't need to click the subscribe to my feed thing, just go to reader.google.com and click "add subscription" then in the field type "blog.ruhlman.com" (no " marks). The quantity of blogs out there to follow is mindblowing- I follow about 150 blogs right now (not all food) and I'm in the process of adding about 50 more that I've been meaning to add.

Many of my favorites have a historic spin. These are both a lot of fun.

Some of my favorites have already been listed by others, but a few others I find inspiring (some, urging me to my own endeavors, others just inspiring envy) are

And just interesting, as it's the recipe notes from the grandmother of a woman in Singapore:

I thought I would post this one, it's very interesting and is all Middle Eastern cooking. She does a wide range from appetizers/desserts, etc. I really enjoy it.

I am completely smitten with Mauren Evans' microblog of recipes on Twitter. Even her meat dishes sound fabulous. This is the best reason, IMO, to get a Twitter account, if you don't have one, or at least use the one you have.

I figured out how to get the RSS feed to Ruhlman's blog, problem solved, and now have a HUGE list of feeds - about half of them on food - to browse with Internet Explorer or Outlook. I haven't yet gotten around to exporting the list of them to Google, but I'm going to get around to doing that any day now, so that I can access them via Google Mobile on my Blackberry, thereby ensuring that I'll hardly ever get any productive work done again.

In the meantime, here's a little tip for others who check RSS feeds via Internet Explorer. I was frustrated with not knowing how to get the feeds to update without having to click and refresh each individual one, and today I found this tip (Windows only):

To refresh all RSS feeds at once: Start --> Run --> msfeedssync forcesync

Here's a fun blog I found recently (Wordpress, where I have my blogs, generates suggestions/links to potentially related blogs, so this blog came up as a link to my post on gyodon on my own food blog).

The blogger is a French chef living in Shizuoka, Japan -- a town I just happen to have visited and loved on my last trip to Japan. The blog name -- Shizuoka Gourmet -- caught my eye, so I visited. Robert-Gilles (aka dragonlife) brings to his blog both the full range of his French culinary background, but also everything he has learned about Japanese cuisine in the many years he has been in Japan. I haven't tried any of his recipes yet, but the reading is fun, and includes a bit of food history.

I started following The Kitchn recently. It's not the best out there, but had some good end-of-year lists. It also seems to have the annoying habit of re-marking articles as "new" in my feed reader over and over again.

But it's led me to another:
