Post #33 - October 18th, 2010, 1:43 pmThis week, I discovered Foodspotting, an i-phone app that allows one to post pictures of restaurant meals on the web and allows one to search, from a local position, meals that have been photographed nearby.
If you travel a bit, it's a good app to have.

Post #34 - May 5th, 2011, 5:33 amI just saw an ad in the New Yorker for Architectural Digest's Amazing Kitchens app. It seems it might be fun if one is looking for kitchen re-design ideas or just likes kitchen porn.
Kind of related--yesterday I started reading the catalogue from the recent MoMA exhibition Counter Space: Design and the Modern Kitchen. The essays seem kind of frivolous, but I'd love to have an app to engage with/learn about the objects from that show. Some very cool stuff.

Post #37 - September 29th, 2011, 3:16 pmBrand new app released today (saw it on Eric Ripert's facebook feed) called "Chef's Feed" I just downloaded it and its pretty cool. For Chicago it has about 30 or so chefs (usual suspects, Achatz, Graham Elliot, Gale Gand, Paul Kahan, etc) talk about their favorite dishes and the restaurants that serve them. Its well organized and each chef has about a paragraph or two describing why they love the dish and restaurant. You can sort by location (gps enabled) name, dish, etc. It looks promising as long as they continue to add things
