Really? Page after page about how much this thread sucks? Is this all we aspire to?

We need to strap on some walking boots, explore this area, and find new threads that suck.

Are you even reading the same posts we are? I can only conclude that you went to the wrong thread. The thread I'm talking about starts with post 320911.

There are a lot of good points being raised on both sides of this issue, so let's just take a deep breath and try to keep the conversation civil.

Oh, shut up! Frankly, the uncivil exchanges are what the thread barely has going for it. Keeping it civil would make the thread suck even more (if that is possible)

There's nothing wrong with this thread sucking, as long as your mediocre flatland mentality continues to make you believe that my system of threads isn't the superior way to get threads to not suck.

I sent a carrier pigeon and smoke signals ahead to the thread informing it that I am a blogger (not a writer!) and would be in attendance with oenophiles and members of royalty and be arriving in a carriage shaped like a pumpkin. I had the captain tell the thread to "thread for us" and since we're so worldly and metropolitan we knew that that's what you do and I believe the thread really respected us for doing so. It's definitely a three-star thread.

This thread is a journalism student looking to interview participants in a food forum, who has done zero previous research on journalism, food, or forums. This thread still earns an A- due to grade inflation, finds a trophy spouse, and becomes a professional writer in another city who spoils the outcome of competition-based reality TV and never learns how to pronounce or spell "bruschetta."

I don't know what's wrong with all of you. I adore this thread, it's had me laughing out loud from the get-go. I think y'all just take all of these threads and this forum too damn seriously - sometimes, you just need to enjoy a thread for it it is and have done with it. While every thread has its detractors, every thread is not going to please every member of this forum - but that doesn't mean that this thread can't be appreciated in its own right. We need to be cautious that we're not missing the forest for the trees.

I refuse to participate in the demoralizing villification of this thread.

I was raised mostly eating canned threads (through the 50s and 60s), so though I enjoy the fresher varieties more now than back then they (the canned) don't bother me in the setting. I understand your point of view, though. Two of the three threads served yesterday were fresh, not canned. Had I accepted the threads that typically come with corned beef dinner then all three would have been fresh. Such an occurrence is unusual, though. Steve's Deli, in the same general River North vicinity, has some excellent fresh threads it serves with its meals.

I just visited this thread for the first time, and I can't tell you how fabulous it is! This is my first post here (I hacked into an account from someone I know) and anyone who thinks this thread sucks doesn't know nearly as much about sucking as I do! I'm going to be visiting this thread all the time, now! You can't imagine how great it is! I'm even going to post about it on Yelp, because all my friends will want to know about how amazing it is, too! I go to a lot of threads with my co-workers at the PR agency, but none of them offer the variety, spontaneity, and creativity you'll find here! This thread rocks!
