I agree in general. But I tend to find mea culpas more likely to be satisfying when I have the sense that they are (i) sincere, which is usually because the person (ii) gets it. And, as Dom suggests, I don't have any sense of either here. And while I don't condone some of the outrageous things that have transpired, it seems pretty clear to me that this woman is very nearly completely clueless.
