I just watched the Chicken Vesuvio & Maxwell Sausage episode. It is really Chicago-y. Love it! Good job, Jeff! Keep it going!

Jeff is doing a pretty spectacular job of showcasing not only Chicago food, but the Chicago vendors that people should know about. Love this show. Thank God for Comcast On Demand, though - it's in a death-match type programming conflict with the Fox NFL pre-game show. . . :x

Yeah, the time slot they give the winner of Food Network Star is always at 11:30 E/P 10:30am CT - it's obviously pretty horrendous, especially during football season. However, my ratings have been very good and hopefully, if I do get renewed for a second season, they'll give me a better time...maybe prime time! maybe not....

Thanks for all the kind words people. One more episode left. Chicken Mole torta and Jibarito. I visit Borinquen for the latter and El Nopal for bolillo and telera buns. Should be a good capper to a fun season.

Thanks for watching. Any recs or question, i'm open for business.

    Jeff.

    Jeff -

Good to hear about the ratings! Not to jinx you, but I'd bet the house on "Sandwich King" being renewed for a full season. The numbers should get a bump in Chicago/Milwaukee this week - Bears/Packers kickoff isn't until 3:15. Boo-yah! :)

The mole sammich subject intrigues me. I'll be watching, in person this time. Again, thanks for passing along the great info about Chicago specialty vendors to a much larger audience - it really tickled me to see Paulina Market. I don't think that place has gotten air time since the days of the Frugal Gourmet, and I don't think that show will ever be seeing the light of day again. . .

    From the Chicago Tribune:

Season nine of Top Chef premieres in November, and Chicago represents in a big way.

Of the 29 contestants announced Tuesday by Bravo, six are working chefs in Chicago. They include Beverly Kim from Aria at the Fairmont Hotel, Heather Terhune from Sable, Sarah Grueneberg from Spiaggia, Chuy Valencia from Chilam Balam, plus Chris Jones and Richie Farina, both from Moto.

    Jeff-

I am enjoying the show immensely, as is my family. Great job showcasing Chicago. Best of luck to you and I'm sure you'll be renewed for a second season.
