    The Reader debuts Mike Sula's Omnivorous column this week and the frequent LTH contributor kicks it off with a wrap-up of the recently held Stuffed symposium, which was the inaugural event from the Greater Midwest Foodways Alliance. The highly informative symposium focused on Midwest sausage traditions. LTHForum.com moderator Cathy Lambrecht -- a driving force behind the GMFA --gets a nice mention and the accompanying photo is by yours truly.

    Transformations

    Yunnanese wonders, Fauxgyptian flash, and thin-crust pizza from Lettuce

    The staff at The Reader visit 3 recently morphed spots in town. LTH contributor Mike Sula checks out the remodeled Spring World in Chinatown and says it's better than ever. The aforementioned Sula also visits King Tut Restaurant and Hookah Bar (nee Queen Nefertiti) on west Lawrence Avenue, where he found the quality of the offerings to be mixed. Kate Schmidt visits Pizzeria via Stato (formerly Osteria via Stato) with which she was not impressed in the least.

    Happily, also provided are brief reviews of a couple dozen spots in town to which The Reader's reviewers eagerly return on a frequent basis. Among those reviews are several penned by Mr. Sula as well as a few by fellow LTH'ers Gary Wiviott and David Hammond.
