    Jim and Kenny,

I'm with you guys. It's only Day 5 and he seems to be more than happy eating what I would categorize as desperation food.

Received the following text from him yesterday, which I thought would be interesting to share:

Is beer an issue? I would think that in his place I would be getting a significant number of calories from beer, other than at breakfast. Actually the whole liquids issue could be significant without resorting to smoothies or shakes. 2 glasses of oj and half a slice for breakfast, a slice with a lot of arugula and a glass of milk at lunch, 2 slices and a six pack at dinner....maybe a bloody mary in lieu of salad.

Don't give Ronnie any ideas Will, how could you separate a man from his sweet sweet liquid refreshment?

Then again, extrapolating his taste in pizza to a similar taste in beer, you might be doing him a favor.

He could definitely go that route but I don't see him making any more effort than he needs to. IWO, if he's perfectly content with frozen pizza, he's not likely to make significant additional effort. Unfortunately, I seem to have underestimated (at least so far) the depth of his tolerances. Also, at least for now, I see him staying very 'down the middle' on this because he too wants to see if he can pull it off. That, of course, could change. And if it does, that's when I'll know I have a chance of winning this thing.

He ate no breakfast this morning, which gave me some brief, minor cause for optimism. However, at lunch he pulled a maneuver which quickly reminded me that I am in serious trouble . . .

Willingly eating -- or as he put it, craving -- Dominos is bad enough but today's lunch really puts things into perspective. He's a junkfood pizza-eating savant and I fear that I have been sandbagged. It's still early but I can already see this one slipping away.

I'm not certain I've actually eaten a Domino's pizza since my University of Michigan days, when they were the only pizzeria that delivered to the dorm.

I recall them well enough, though, that the Paul and Storm jingle always seemed apt:
When you’re done with your Domino’s Pizza
Eat the box, because it tastes the same

However, I'm fascinated to see in the photo that Domino's has so far adapted to Chicago culture that they cut their pizza party-style, instead of the wedge cut I remember from Michigan.

It, uh, depends on the type of pizza you order from them. The original style still comes with the thicker end crust and wedge cut.

Anyway, I think Ronnie's doomed. Pizzaboy has had at least one item of clothing related to a Chicago sports team on in every single picture taken thus far - not that there is anything at all wrong with that, but it indicates that variety is not exactly the spice of life here. I don't see him having a problem sticking to pizza for a month.
