Interesting, turns out it wasn't a feral pig at all. The "monster" hog was a domesticated farm animal named Fred. A farmer sold his pet hog to a manager of one of those canned hunt places, 4 days earlier (it was too big to butcher). It took the kid 3 hours to put 5 slugs (out of 16 shots) into a farm animal that was in a fenced-in area, after being led to it by two "hunting guides". That doesn't seem like much of an accomplishment, no matter how big the pig was. That wasn't hunting, it was target practice, on a damned big target at that. Who hunts with a pistol anyhow? Moreover, why do they even make a .50 cal pistol? The only thing it is good for is blowing gigantic holes in things from close range (and producing stray bullets that travel a long distance). I do feel a little sorry for the kid.
