Given the success of LinkTH, I thought we could establish threads of seasonal food art - without a lot of wordy build-up. The LTH community can build a repository for the images that really evoke the season.

In this case, contribute to the the visual tableau of summer (the whole grilled, smoked, picnicked lot of it) even if you don't have an elaborate post or story to go around with your pictures.

It's also a fine feeding ground for this and future photo contests so folks who snapped a pic don't have to create a thread around it if they don't want to.

Ideally, I see this going year-round. Look back on the Spring or Summer thread on a wintry January morning. Or look for inspiration on the Fall thread on an atypically cooler day in June.

Here's my inaugural summer picture (because nothing says summer like skewered meat):

There are a number of inspiring and complex recipics on this site that I have enjoyed reading over the years.

Here is a simpler one that evokes summer to me.

    Take your finest dry-aged grains:

    Gather fresh fruit:

    Find a bowl:

    Use your knife:

    Locate fine dairy product:

Excellent pictures and great idea for a thread.

I'm in the market for new digital camera. I'd be grateful to anyone who really loves their camera to indicate in their post what kind of camera they used. I presume this would be useful to others too.

Here's some excellent advice and links on buying a camera:
    http://lthforum.com/bb/viewtopic.php?t= ... ght=camera

Most of us use Flickr for photo hosting. Flickr tracks what cameras are used for all photos. For instance you can go to the food porn group here
    http://www.flickr.com/groups/52240578442@N01/
    or the LTHforum group here
    http://www.flickr.com/groups/lthforum/
click on a photo you like and usually see what camera was used from there you can click on the camera and see lots more shots done with that camera.

    You can also go here
    http://www.flickr.com/cameras/
on flickr and see what cameras are most popular, etc.
