I met a most interesting woman tonight at a Preservation Chicago benefit (thanks for the invite, Leesh!). Her name is Shuli Eshel, and she just did a video documentary entitled "Maxwell Street: A Living Memory, The Jewish Experience in Chicago."

This documentary will be screened this Sunday, December 12, from 3-4:30 at the Chicago Historical Society. $5 admission. There will also be some readings by Roger Schatz, the author of Jewish Maxwell Street Stories.

I have knoiwn Shuli for quite some time. She does some very interesting work and is dedicated to telling stories via the documentary. Last time I was at Manny's they were selling this video at the cashier.

Thanks hattyn; I edited the original post (moral of story: don't try to write post filled with details after party followed by jibaritos and late night viewing of The Seventh Seal which, as you know, is one of my favorite signs/movies. )

    HI,

IN my efforts to support the home crowd, you can always obtain Gorilla Gourmet's Maxwell Street foray featuring many people who post on LTHforum.com. [Full disclosure, I am one of those fine people.]

It's never too late to order for the difficult to please person!

    Merry Christmas!
