What happened to Cheap Eats? It appears they jettisoned their typically discerning reporters for these newbies. The restaurants they've chosen(and rated highly) recently are obviously plebian fare; suburban burgers and pizza, woohoo. Not that burgers and pizza can't rise to wonderous heights.

If I see one more tavern/sports bar listed, however...
For awhile there I thought Cheap Eats was taking it's cue from Chowhound, et al.
