This being Chicago, you can actually vote for Edzo's three times-- best new restaurant, best burger joint, and most in-demand dish (the old fries). (Apparently the line isn't long enough yet for "Most Worth the Wait," compared to Doug or Kuma's.) Me, only once.

    Hi

I did vote for SkyfullofBacon and Edzo's and Doug's.

The nature of these reader voting polls, it becomes a popularity contest. If you take the high road and expect people will vote because you righteously deserve it, well, you will be left in the dust. Almost by necessity you find yourself asking for votes, because it just doesn't happen organically.

Remember the Red Eye blogger competition last year? Deciding votes were made by the public. It really became a situation of how broad was your blog reader and friend network vs another competitors. I was getting e-mails from my sister who participates on meetup.com to vote for the person who ultimately won. My sister had no connection with this person except it was part of the meetup organization.

Generally, I don't like popularity polls, but I do like my friends. :)

    Regards,
    Cathy2

Deadline is 9 am Monday, 3/15, so if you wanna vote for me, Edzo's, Mado and other faves... do so now! (Sky Full of Bacon is in the third category from the bottom.) Thanks.
