I'd like to do some research before the guide comes out in November. Any input you folks can help with would be appreciated!

As the first guide is being published in November, nobody has any stars right now.

Off the top of my head, chefs Laurent Gras and Charlie Trotter both have been awarded Michelin stars for their (former) restaurants outside of Chicago.

Is the question maybe "are there any michelin starred chefs working in Chicago, or chefs who earned Michelin stars at a previous restaurant?"

That's the only thing that would make sense to me.

In any case, the only one I can think of off the top of my head is Laurent Gras, who earned three Michelin stars as chef-de-cuisine at Restaurant Alain Ducasse in Paris.

Oh, as Pacent notes, Restaurant Charlie in Las Vegas earned one Michelin star before it closed earlier this year.

Is this personal research or research for a Medill News Service story?

No, no, it was just personal research. The question, more specifically, was if there were chefs in Chicago who already have a Michelin star outside of Chicago. Thanks for all your help!
