Er, Good District Establishments, or dishes therefrom:

    List. Therefore, contention. Go!

(surprise for me is Kibbeh at Cedar's in Hyde Park - good to see the 'hood represented, I personally prefer The Nile over Cedar's for every dish including Kibbeh, though. Happy to see The Portage and Meiji included).

Actually, except for a couple of the far south side places that I haven't visited (and am not qualified to comment on), I think it's not a bad list at all. Are there other places that could have been included on the list? Yes, but it's a real solid list IMO. It almost appears that the GNR List was consulted extensively.

Enjoyed the list! But the food photography reminds me of those chop suey menus where all the dishes look yellow and green.

Strike the word "almost" and I think you'll have it!

I'm suprised there aren't the typical cries of dismay and horror that such lists typically elicit. :-)

Frankly, I'm both dismayed and horrified that there isn't more dismay and horror. :D

How could anyone value anything from a list that boasts about a dish from Carson's ribs! I may never buy Chicago Magazine again!

    List fatigue perhaps?

    Token objections:

Lakeview: Soup from The Bagel over wings from Crisp? I guess with Albany Park already represented by wings they didn't want to duplicate.
Lincoln Park: Pasta from Via Carducci over the kalbi taco at del Seoul or pretty much anything at Sweets & Savories?

Thus ends my dismay and horror.

Great article, but how could they leave out the tacos arabes from Cemetas Puebla and the Ham Hash with Old potatoes and eggs from Patty's Diner?
