Posters on LTHForum have lots of opinions on what qualifies as good service, but I think most LTHers would agree that most servers are patient, warm, and, most of all, very hardworking. That's why when I came across Aaron's Last Wish today, I felt it would be of potential interest to the LTH community.

Aaron Collins passed away at the age of 30 in July, 2012. In his will his last wish was for his family go out to eat a pizza together and leave a $500 tip for their waiter or waitress. His family posted the video to YouTube and since then they raised over $60,000 through donations. Aaron's brother has been distributing the money, $500 at a time, ever since. He is now on a road trip trying to make it to every state. He will be in Chicago July 11-14th. To see videos of him giving away the first 54 (as of now) tips, check out http://aaroncollins.org/. Here is the original:

Last request leads to $500 tip for Chicago waitress, 'Are you kidding?'

Vanessa Goldschmidt said it had been a slow night at the pod of tables she was in charge of serving at Pequod’s in Lincoln Park on Thursday.
The night quickly became a memorable one when, after cashing out one $45 tab, she was handed a $500 tip.

She was the latest unsuspecting restaurant server to experience Aaron Collins’ last wish.

This story made me want to cry in the midst of smiling. To turn the heartache of losing a sibling to suicide into something so positive was absolutely heartwarming.

I also really liked the part of the story about searching out independent, locally owned eateries for each gift.
