IACP Speaker Series -- now available to non-members

I posted about this on the Culinary Historians Facebook page, and Cathy2 suggested it might be welcome here, as well.

IACP has regular "webinars" and tele-seminars on a wide range of topics. For example, Wednesday night, we spent an hour online chatting with Jacque Pépin, listening to tales of his life and asking questions about where things are going. We've had "webinars" with top chefs, food writers, recipe developers, cooking school operators (such as Anne Willan, who spoke of cookbook history), and more. IACP just announced that non-members can now "attend" these seminars. Just sign up for notices, and then accept invitations to the ones that interest you.

I agree Cathy2. There have been some wonderful programs in this series. Coming up next is developing ethnic recipes for cookbooks.

There is a writer's workshop on May 22 for those who are interested in writing culinary memoirs. Thanks, Cynthia, this is just what I was looking for.

Tomorrow (Wednesday, May 11), there is a presentation on goat -- raising, cooking, appreciating.

I actually attended this presentation at the IACP conference, and it was very interesting. While they won't be able to hand out samples with an online presentation, I'm betting they'll still hand out some of the great recipes.
