Hi- I saw this today on Jill Cataldo's couponing blog. Meijer's just recently expanded into Wisconsin. For their grand opening, they were offering some lost leaders to get people into the store. Apparently there is an obscure law in Wisconsin which outlaws lost leaders, and Meijer's was told that they were violating the law, and and that they had to quit offering lost leader items. I believe they were also fined. Apparently because of this law Walmart had to quit offering prescriptions for $4 too. At the other Meijer's stores, they offer a few free prescriptions, including a few antibiotics, and the generic version of lipitor. I suspect that this offer is outlawed in Wisconsin too.
