Hi- I was watching PBS either yesterday or Friday, and they had a show on where Mike Leonard was the host. He used to do segments on the Today show at least once a week. He then had a show on PBS maybe five years ago, where he and his wife loaded up all their kids and his elderly grandparents, and the toured the US on a Winnebago, and did lots of filming along the way. He now has another program on PBS. I forget what it is called, but it consists of maybe three segments. He did one segment about the Christmas tree at Rockefeller center. When he was on the Today show, he did a segment every year, where he interviewed the family that donated the tree that particular year that was on display at Rockefeller center.

The first segment he did though was about a cashier at Grand Food in Glencoe. This woman has down's syndrome, and lives at Miseracordia, but she takes the Metra on her own to Glencoe, and works as a cashier at Grand Food. They said that she actually makes less mistakes than most of the other cashiers there do. I am sure that there was more training involved than is usual before they felt comfortable letting her cashier, and at the end of the day they do double check her drawer before she is allowed to leave. She has a very positive attitude, and apparently all the customers and employees love her. Does anybody here shop at that store? Thanks, Nancy

This is not at all related to the question, but I know that's the grocery store where they did some filming of Home Alone.
