Caro LTHForum,
I just got this e-mail from Michael Dorian, director of Pizza! The Movie, and thought I'd share it for those of you who might be interested. Memphis is a long way from Chicago and even longer from Las Vegas, but it might be nice if I could make it and some of you, as well. Plus, I hear they make some kind of dish in Memphis involving cuts of meat, smoked over a live fire. Crazy! If I can arrange this in time, I'm going to go - anyone who shows up will get a free trip with me to the location of Robert Johnson's secret gravesite (as well as a possible side-trip to the equally elusive soul-food shack in Helena, Ark.) Michael's e-mail from today:
Hey Man,
It is with great pleasure that I am able to inform you of Pizza! The
Movie's being accepted into the Memphis International Film Festival,
which happens soon: March 23rd-26th.
I thought I should give as many people in the movie (but especially
you, funny guy) a chance to make plans to come to the World Premier of
the film. Now you know. You're most welcome to come. It'd be great
to see you in Memphis where you can see yourself on the big screen!
Memphis is a long way from Vegas, so you should know i've submitted it
to about 6 film fests in Cali—I'll be sure to let you know about those.
But come if you can—i think a bunch of the rest of the "cast" is making
it. It should be a gas!
I just posted some stuff about this at the
website—http://www.thepizzamovie.com/. Check it out if you can.
Anyway, I hope you're well. Holla at your boy.
Michael
