    LTH,

Steve Dolinsky, the Hungry Hound, on ABC 7, did a nice round up of BBQ joints for Memorial Day. Honey 1's Robert's Adam's Sr gives us the secret of what makes his BBQ so good. There's some tasty BBQ gastroporn shots from Lem's, The Rib Joint and Fat Willies, among others and a mention of Uncle John's BBQ at the end.

Well worth 3-minutes of your life, especially if you like BBQ.

    LTH,

Speaking of media and BBQ, NPR's "This I Believe" series has a terrific segment on BBQ by Jason Sheehan.

My favorite quote from the piece. :)
“Skinny people can eat barbecue, and do, but the kitchen should cook for a fat man who hasn't eaten since breakfast. My leftovers should last for days.”

    Enjoy,
    Gary

That was a very good report Steve Dolinsky did. My mouth was watering watching all of those ribs being made. Interestingly, Steve Dolinsky said he hadn't been to Uncle John's yet, but named it as one of the best on good authority from someone named "Gary." I wonder who that could be.

Sometime over the summer The Rib Joint closed and turned into a Whale (a mostly south and west side fish and chicken chain). I never thought TRJ was among the elite Chicago barbecue houses but they put out a very respectable product (top ten in my estimation). It's a shame to lose another one.
