Does anyone know where I can purchase the NY Daily News in the Chicago area? I had a letter published today (on their web site) regarding NYC vs. Chicago summer festivals, and I'd love to see if it made the printed edition.

    Thanks in advance!

Does this have to do with the recent article condemning NYC street fests as generic and sucky, which they very much seemed to be during a recent trip? Like the Chicago fests, most of the food booths and vendors are identical from fest to fest. But the NYC booths are even less local, most from well outside the city, and terrible. Here, at least one can get by on the Polish, Croatian, and now BBQ places which, while ubiquitous, are local and pretty solid.

That's exactly what it stems from...was a respose to Lenore's column...she wrote back and was very surprised at how much better Chicago's fests sound and urged me to copy the News' letters dept. on my note..was published today...

I had lived in NYC for a couple of years, and was very excited to experience their festivals....very, very disappointing....no music, no local neighborhood vendors....and the exact same cruddy food offered at every single one....One hilarious example was the Midtown Jazz Festival....not only was there no jazz, there was no music of any kind! Lot's of tube sock and refrigerator magnet vendors though....
