Mark your calendars! An LTH pizza party has been scheduled at . I just talked to Chris a few minutes ago to set the date. I think we will just let Chris & Kristy bring us various pizzas until we are full. Wine and beer will be available. Indiana does not allow BYOB.

Count the Dritz family in for 2 to 4 people, depending on our daughters' busy social schedules. Both the photos and the write-ups have us drooling already.

I certainly want some pizza, but the stuffed pepper appetizer is the real draw for me.

Absolutely, My thought was to try a little bit of everything, including the creme brulee cheesecake and some gelato.

Bruce, I've been trying to Mapquest this place (to determine times, mileage, etc.) and have been unsuccessful. Thoughts?

I'm getting a per person cost early this week. Wine and beer is available but will be priced outside the meal cost. Indiana does not have BYOB. Stop 50 does serve wine and beer.

I stopped in and talked to Chris today. With 1 pizza, appetizer, dessert, and soft drink per person it would be no more than $30. We will probably be ordering less than that per person. Wine/beer will be available for those that want it. The weather is supposed to be great, and if it is we might even be able to sit outside on the patio.

I had an anchovy, cheese, and tomato pizza for lunch and it was perfection. I brought home 2 pieces of the creme brulee cheesecake for tonights dinner and took a small bite when I got home. Outstanding.

I'm going to call Thursday with the number of RSVPs.

    Bruce - 2
    Stevez - 2
    sdritz - 2- 4
    Cathy2- 1
    crush - 2
    Renee2- 1
    Betti - 2

Looks like there is 16 of us. If anyone else wants to join us feel free to come on out. I'm sure adding a couple of pizzas and appetizers won't be a problem.

Beautiful weather expected today over here in Southwest Michigan.

Too bad, I'll also hoist some of the wood roasted fresh asparagus too.

The patio is open and I believe it will be warm enough to sit outside.

Thank you, Bruce, for setting up a delicious dinner at Stop 50 Saturday night. The weather was perfect for sitting on the patio, the company was excellent and the food -- the food just was outstanding. Even my daughters, who are usually bored silly when forced to dine with grownups, said they had a great time talking to everyone. They can't wait to go back again for dinner, hopefully (for them) after an afternoon at the outlet mall.

Everything, from appetizers to dessert, was carefully crafted and delicious. I would be hard pressed to pick a favorite pizza, but I think the white pizza with the red onions and pistachios may have been my favorite of the evening. The roasted asparagus, the provolone and pear appetizer and the caprese salad were all wonderful. I really enjoyed the creme brulee cheesecake -- it was very light and tasty.

For those of you who were not able to attend, Chris (the owner) said as the weather gets warmer his hours of operation will increase. It's well worth the drive.

Bruce thank you for putting together the dinner and serving up the great weather. Kristy and I really enjoyed hosting an LTH event and we look forward to the next one. It was great to share my love of this food with everyone and humbling to know all of you drove a good distance to attend.

Thank you to all. My only regret is not getting a picture of all of us! I had my camera ready, but simply forgot.

    HI,

Our cool spring weather warmed to make it pleasant to sit outside on the patio. Even as the sun same down, no sweater was needed. There was the added bonus of no pesky insects because they just haven't hatched yet.

Dinner began with two off menu items:

Fire roasted asparagus from local sources with parmesan cheese:
    Image

Fire roasted pears with provolone cheese:
    Image

We then enjoyed a series of pizzas cooked in a wood fired traditional brick oven at over 900 degrees Fahrenheit.

Marinara dressed with olive oil, garlic, tomato and oregano:
    Image

Margherita dressed with tomato, mozzarella and basil:
    Image

Wild Mushroom dressed with olive oil, garlic, mushroom (though not wild), oregano and mozzarella:
    Image

Sausage dressed with tomato, sausage, mozzarella and oregano:
    Image

    Two other pizzas not documented:
Prosciutto dressed with prosciutto, pistachios, mozzarella and rosemary
Parmigiano dressed with red onion, parmigiano reggiano, pistachios and rosemary.

    Dessert was Creme Brulee Cheesecake
    Image

    and Melone gelato:

The nice evening clearly tamed the Dritz family:
    Image

While this may not be the easiest location to find, there are some hints at strategic moments after crossing the railroad tracks:
    Image

I want to go another day, then drive around the area to check out the houses.

Thanks Bruce for arranging this event to locations rarely traveled by me.

    Regards,
    Cathy2
