Heaven on Seven Cocktail Party Cooking Class on May 11th

Chef/Owner Jimmy Bannos and Director of Catering & Events, Cleetus Friedman, will be offering a cocktail party cooking class combining recipes and drinks from Jimmy’s newest cookbook, Big Easy Cocktails along with party tips for entertaining.

The new cooking class is $75.00 and includes all food and drink, recipes to take home, tax and gratuity. For $90.00 each we will include a personalized, signed cookbook. Friday May 11th at 7pm, 111 N. Wabash • 7th Floor.

Charging an extra $15 is not my idea of throwing in anything.

I recommend Jimmys cooking classes..we have gotten groups together a couple times and have always had a good time
the last one was to celebrate one of our local own winning the Jack Daniels World BBQ championship..several area KCBS BBQ teams were there for the festivities and had a great time..Jimmy is a fun and interesting host..

Well, actually, that's what "throw in" means. If you throw something extra in, you do it at no charge. It's a freebie by definition. If you want to offer something more for an additional charge, no problem. But don't say you're throwing it in. You aren't.

Ok, ok. I have changed THROW IN to INCLUDE. Come to the class anyway, Gypsy boy, it's a great time - per deke rivers.

Thanks for the personalized invite, cleetus. Actually, Flip was the one who raised the issue and I was merely trying to explain to deke rivers (and you, I guess) that "throw in" does mean "free." I am not unhappy with anything here (except, perhaps, a little laxity in the original use of the language). I am, indeed, a fan of Jimmy Bannos and have frequented his establishment on many occasions, always to my utter delight. So, while I don't know that I'll be able to make the event, I do appreciate the invite (and the more careful language) and, after all, one never knows. Thanks!

I see that, my error. Anyway, the whole issue was to announce the class and not get into a word battle.
