    Meet Carlyn and Jan Berghoff with Nancy Ross Ryan when they present their new book, The Berghoff Family Cookbook: Celebrating a Century of Entertaining at The Berghoff. Their book, released in September, includes stories, photos and recipes of all of the famous and historic meals served at The Berghoff, plus new and updated entertaining recipes and tips from Carlyn Berghoff's longstanding catering company, Artistic Events by Carlyn Berghoff. Interviewed by Judith Dunbar Hines, Director of Culinary Arts & Events, Department of Cultural Affairs. Judith is a chef and culinary instructor whose responsibilities include promoting th exciting Chicago food scene throughout the world.

    Books will be for sale at the event and the authors will be available for signing.

    (PS I didn't realize that we had a director of culinary events in the DCA! Is this a new development?)

    (PS I didn't realize that we had a director of culinary events in the DCA! Is this a new development?)


    Judith Dunbar Hines has been doing this for some years. When they had the cultural series devoted to culinary events called, 'Stirring Things Up.' This was Judith's responsibility.

    Years ago, I had to work closely with the DCA for a show I was curating for the Chicago Historical Society. The DCA is one funny organization. They have
    czars for everything. The most recent appointment, I believe, was Melissa Turner as Fashion Director.
