I just received an email about this event taking place at Fiddlehead Cafe, and I plan to go. Post here or PM if you're interested in joining, and if there are takers I will make a reservation. I don't think Fiddleheadgets quite enough attention, as it's a great space, a kitchen that's doing some serious cooking, and staff that really care.

Join us for a Pig Roast featuring Flossmoor Beer. We will be featuring the Station, Pullman, & I.P.A. from Flossmoor. Menu includes

    Whole Roast Suckling Pig

    Truffled Mac n’ Cheese
Goat Cheese, Arugula, White Truffle Oil, Fresh Herbs

    Salad
Mixed Greens, Watercress, Apples, Pecans, Blue Cheese, Red Wine Vinaigrette

    “Green Bean Casserole”
Green & Yellow Beans, Wild Mushrooms, Fried Shallots

    Biscuits with Hazelnut Butter

    Molassas Baked Beans
    Navy Beans, Molassas, Worchestershire, Bacon

    Potato Salad
Mustard Aoli, Dried Orange, Fried Celery Leaves

    Strawberry Shortcake
Home Made Pound Cake, Honey Marinated Strawberries

This event is $37 plus tax and tip. It starts at 7PM, and I'll suggest meeting at 6:45 if folks decide to join.

Update: this terrific-sounding evening will also feature a discussion with Kim Snyder of Faith's Farm, which is supplying the evening's local, free-range pig. Post here or PM if you'd like to join - I'll be reserving this week.

    Kenny-

This sounds intriguing. I'll have to see how my schedule goes this week. Does the dinner start at a certain time, or is it rolling all night? Also, any idea about the subject of the discussion?

The event starts at 7PM - thanks for asking, as I should have included that in the original post (it's now updated). If we have takers here, I'll suggest meeting at 6:45.

The discussion is nothing formal. She's a farmer trying to do what I think are all the right things (humane treatment of animals, no hormone usage, pasture-feeding, etc.). She'll be in attendance at the dinner and open to any questions/ comments people might have about these (or other) topics.
