Hot dog wolfing contest, May 17

The Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest will hold a qualifier in Chicago on May 17. Registration for contestants has closed, apparently, and I haven't found out where it will be held or whether spectators are allowed.

But this seems like such an un-Chicago thing. A hot dog is something to be savored, with all its zesty condiments, not dipped in warm fruit punch and shoved down your throat.
