This will be short since I need a bath, to get my legs up and get some rest before more riding tomorrow, but I wanted to thank everyone who joined in and cheered on our taco ride today. I feel very grateful to know such kind people* who also think that biking all afternoon in the name of tacos is a good idea. I'll write at greater length in the next few days when I'm able to look at the food pictures from today (there is such a thing as too many tacos...), but here is one of my favorite images from the Vuelta:

Riding ahead of schedule by the time we got to Quebrada, JimTheBeerGuy decided we could do better than the corner liquor store for beer to go with dinner. He offered to make a detour, accompanied by nr706, on the way to Nuevo Leon. This is his arrival. Note his cargo (and awesome t-shirt). :D

Great time, great organizing job by Dimitra and Sharon. I'll post more later, but I think Max gave us all a lesson in true taco enjoyment. (Thanks to JimTheBeerGuy and Saint Pizza for bringing him along.)

Thanks to everyone for such a great day, for being such great riders, and tasters and all-around good company. And to my co-organizer Sharon for making it all so fun and easy. I think since we picked so many board favorites for the tour, the excellent quality of the tacos was pretty consistent at every stop - no duds to be found. As for me, the place I'm especially looking forward to returning to is Cemitas Pueblas. There's a lot more there I'd like to explore.

Looks like an amazing Saturday was had by all.

The pork dish looks to be the incredible guisado de puerco, the one dish at Nuevo Leon that I periodically get serious cravings for. The guisado and the tacos de sabinas are far and away my two favorite dishes at NL, and in my opinion, worth the trip to Pilsen.

I had a great time on the Vuelta! A few of us bowed out early as we had plans for the evening, so our last stop was Cemitas Pueblas. I had been to 3 of the stops before the Vuelta, and I’m still looking forwards to going to La Quebrada and Nuevo Leon on my own time. It took very little convincing for Germuska to join us to finish our day with something cold, fruity and tart from Berry Chill. Jim’s drool worthy pictures pretty much sums the day up! Thanks again to Sharon and Dmitra for organizing yet another fantastic ride!
