My family(wife and daughter) and I will be heading to Cemita's for long anticipated visit this Saturday, 11/22/2008 around 4:30 p.m. for an early dinner after a visit to the Chuck-E-Cheese location in Skokie.

We would welcome any company for what I anticipate to be another home run by a GNR.

Since driving is not an issue for us, perhaps a visit over to Devon Ave., or over to Argyle/Broadway will also be in the cards.

Jim, I have to congratulate you on the most brilliant Chuck-E-Cheese strategy I've ever heard of. Sparky will be especially happy to go to a GNR if there's another kid along. If I can get us out of the house on a Saturday, we'll see if we can make it - I'll post again to let you know if we do decide we can make it!

    michele,

You are correct, as soon as the Chucke Cheese birthday invite came I quickly made a short list of GNR's in the area that I wanted to hit. Hopefully you guys can make it out.

Your definition of "in the area" is impressively broad.

    Mike,
who thinks Ikea is an excellent excuse to go to Katy's. Either Ikea, Schaumburg or Bolingbrook.

    thanks,

like i've said before when you drive almost 900 miles a week just to get to work and back, driving for something fun, and good to eat isn't an issue. Especially with gas @ $1.91/gallon and falling.

THats also why saying we are going to make another stop(devon, or Argyle, etc) while we are in Chicago in addition to Cemita's isnt an issues, since pretty much anything is techincally "on the way home". :D

So, I talked to the family, and we're in! Sparky in particular is eager to eat anywhere that's been on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives (never mind that it's a GNR...)

    excellent,

we should be there between 4 & 4:30. All depends on how long it takes to get from Check-e-cheese in Skokie to there. Rand McNally says its only 12 miles, and we are leaving the party @ 3:15-3:30.

Maybe if Dickson got a fierce suntan and bleached his hair, the GNRs would be more popular with the kids.
