Garfield Park Conservatory is having a yummy event Saturday 2/6 and 2/13:

Sweet Saturdays will focus on plants that provide the key ingredients to some favorite sweet treats. The Garfield Park Conservatory, a veritable plant-based candy show, is home to many living sweets such as bananas, vanilla beans, cinnamon bark, and chocolate trees. Visitors of all ages can sample the facts, the flavors and the fun of some of the most tantalizing tropical treats.

$3, people! A nice way to treat your sweetie to a frugal Valentine's Day! If I wasn't donating blood like a sucker I'd be there 2/6, but hopefully I can make 2/13.

    HI,

Thanks for posting on this. I remember when they began having a chocolate festival around Valentine's Day. It was so over subscribed, they were metering candy to everyone.

    Regards,

I'll have to tell my friend Rob who joined us on the first Plethora of Pies, since he was the one who alerted me. If it wasn't for him I never would have remembered.
