I'm sorry to do this so late, but I won't be able to cook this month (family stuff). I'd still like to come to dinner, though.

For everyone planning to attend the dinner on Monday the 8th:

By my count, we have 8 participants for the exchange (meaning everyone needs to prepare 7 portions) and a total of 11 for dinner. For the benefit of those preparing food, please let the group know today if you won't be joining us or choose not to cook.

Otherwise, looking forward to seeing everyone on Monday!

    Hi,

The "Exploded Catfish" served at Spoon Thai (and Sticky Rice) is called Yam Plaa Duk Fuu. When I have tried to order it the last few years, I was told it needed advance ordering. If they simply decline, don't worry. In digging up the name, I found a second source for it at Sticky Rice.

There is more information on this dish here.

    Regards,
    Cathy2

We are now reserved for 1 table for 13 and 2 orders of Yam Plaa Duk Fuu! Have a good weekend everyone and don't eat so much at your Superbowl parties that you spoil your appetite for Spoon...on second thought, not likely for this group :D

    Hi,

I counted seven portions. While Moet Chandon did not announce her offering, I assume she is still attending.

I made everything Saturday and froze it, so I have eight portions.

By my count we now have 7 participants, counting moet chandon, which would mean bringing 6 portions--right?

Moet, if you could confirm you'e participating that would be great!

    See you all soon.

Took my dog to the vet for checkup that is turning into an afternoon procedure with anesthesia. Pick up time - you guessed it - 7pm.

I have the gumbo good to go, so I will swing by Spoon before or during dinner for a drop off. I will not be able to stay for the catfish :(

To keep this food related - Devin is the pumpkin eating doberman of the shopping/cooking thread. Keep good thoughts for him.

    Wendy,

Sorry to hear that Devin is under the weather and hope he's on the mend as we speak. We can do the exchange whenever it's convenient for you (and could make you up a to-go box of Spoon goodies for that matter :D) By the way, I'm Boudreau's mom (of the beautifully Thomas Keller-brined pork tenderloin) so i definitely can sympathize!

    Wendy,

If you get there before I do for the exchange, please leave your portion for me. Well figure out who lives near you to collect your portion from me to pick up.

Looking forward to this and that wonderful catfish!

    Wendy,

I think that you need to arrive after 7:00. Before 7:00 there will be no one to exchange with.
