Doggone good benefit dinner, May 18

Local chefs will come together at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 18, at Theatre Cafe in Irving Park for a dinner to raise funds for Charles, a Great Dane belonging to Kuma's Corner Chef Amalia Obermeier-Smith. The 5-month-old pup needs a $4,000 operation to correct bilateral premature closure of the distal ulnar and prevent him from becoming painfully crippled. Details TBA.

Other fundraisers for Charles include a dog wash from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 15, at 6460 N. Milwaukee Ave., Chicago.

Chicago's own local chefs from across the city are coming together this one night to do a tasting menu in honor of Charles the Great Dane. All proceeds will go towards saving Charles life. RSVP ASAP to reserve your spot.

$50 Prix Fixe Menu Includes 6 course tasting menu, wine pairings, pre-dinner amuse bouche and guest mixologist serving drinks.
