Moonshine Celebrates Craft Beer
Moonshine Restaurant & Brewery
In honor of American Craft Beer Week, a nation-wide celebration of the art of craft brewing, Moonshine Restaurant & Brewery will showcase its new lineup of house brews by pairing them with delicious new dishes. The featured brew of the week will be a brand new, highly anticipated wheat beer, “Hymie Weiss,” aptly named after Al Capone’s bitter gangster rival! They say it’s “a beer you’ll kill for”!
This is a great chance for beer lovers to toast craft brewing and to commemorate the advanced beer culture here in Chicago,” says Moonshine chef Matt Wilde. The “mother of all beers weeks,” American Craft Beer Week is the largest national effort focusing on American craft brewers.
Moonshine has recently implemented a fully-operational in-house brewery, spearheaded by Brewmaster Bob Kittrell. The house-brew list consists of six diverse, hand-crafted beers, each priced at $5.

Metro Brewing tapping a special IPL at Fizz Bar and Grill
Ravenswood's Metropolitan Brewing comes to Fizz Bar and Grill with a special brew! From the Metro Brewing website:
Just for kicks, we hopped on the band wagon (ha! see what I did there?) and brewed a very small test batch of a single-hop beer using German Tradition Hallertau hops. By "single" we mean: a crapload of one kind of hops, added 3 different times during the boil. We call it an IPL. The *only* place you'll get to try this beer... ever... is at Fizz on Wednesday night of Chicago Craft Beer Week.
Metro bottles will also be on special for $4, in case you're not a hophead. We'd understand completely.
This free event starts up at 8 pm and will end by 11 pm.
