Who says there’s no such thing as a free lunch? Hop on board a trolley from Oakton’s Skokie campus, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave., Wednesday Oct. 13 and be whisked away to the Downtown Skokie Dine-Around. The event features complimentary cuisine from Skokie restaurants. Guests who visit at least three participating restaurants during Dine-Around will be eligible to win an iPod Touch or restaurant gift certificate worth $25.
Trolleys will run continuously from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. In addition to Oakton’s Skokie campus, pick up and drop-off locations include: Illinois Science and Technology Park, 4901 Searle Parkway; Skokie Chamber of Commerce, 5002 Oakton St.; and the Village of Skokie, 5127 Oakton St. Guests will receive a wristband before boarding a trolley.
Participating restaurants include: Annie’s Pancake House; De-Jred Fine Jamaican Cuisine; Sweety Pies Bakery, Cakery and Café; Subway; Pat’s Place; The Curragh Irish Pub; Tub Tim Thai; Village Inn Pizzeria, Sports Bar, and Grill; and Yolo Mexican Eatery. Free delectables include: pumpkin squares, turtle brownies, cupcakes, subs, chili, Irish stew, corned beef sandwiches, soups, salads, milkshakes, egg rolls, pizza, chicken wings, tacos and much more.
Diners also will enjoy live music and a juggling chef demonstration. The event is scheduled rain or shine.
