Food & Performance wrote:F&P is a showcase of performance art involving edibles. Artists interact directly with audience members who are welcome to roam, taste, and engage in a variety of performances occurring simultaneously throughout the gallery. Whether decorating a personalized birthday cake, participating in a bratwurst eating contest, or sampling dinner party hors d'oeuvres, this event will surely activate all the senses.

F&P artists are at the crossroad of consumption and body, creating work that grapples with the questions of how food nourishes, revolts, entices, rewards, shames, comforts, seduces, and builds community. F&P artists push the boundaries of these questions and invite audiences to partake in the feast.

    Artists:
DANI BRYANT: Kitchen – You are the guest as a woman, alone in her kitchen, frantically prepares for a dinner party.

NICOLE GARNEAU: Stain – The artist invites you to be part of her beet obsession.

ELENA KATSULIS & ERIN PEISERT: She. Never. Gives. Up. – Are women utilitarian objects? They will provide for you, and often go unrecognized. To serve, fulfill, and please you.

TREVOR MARTIN & VICKI FOWLER: Six Scenes and an Epilogue – Using fortune cookies as vessels to contain short scripts for micro-performances, an exchange is constructed between the artists, Saint Joan of Arc, and the viewer.

CAROLE MCCURDY & CATHERINE YANES: Best of the Wurst – Mama rocks your bratwurst yearnings in a race to the juicy end. You can be the Wiener!

MEGAN RHYME (Saturday only): Inheritance of Cake – a movement meditation on the legacy of birthday cake decorating.

CRISTAL SABBAGH (Sunday only): Starfish baby – "Multiplying by fission is just one of my God given talents. In anticipation of the birth of myself, I would love to offer you sustenance and fellowship" – Prince

JILL WACHHOLZ: Metamorfafood – We're gnawed by two extremes: "Indulge Yourself" on one end, "Deprive Yourself" on the other. There is hope in the middle.

F&P has limited capacity, so pre-event ticket purchases are highly encouraged.
F&P is an ongoing showcase curated by Ania Greiner and Jessica Hannah.
