Be an Illinois Field Mom!

From the Watch Us Grow website:

Beginning this fall, Illinois Farm Families will bring a group of city moms out to meet our families and tour our farms. We’re opening our doors to give these Field Moms a behind-the-scenes look at how we:

Grow your food
Care for our animals
Protect the land

Field Moms will see firsthand how we raise food that is safe and healthy for your family – and ours. And they'll report what they see, hear and learn right here, on Watch Us Grow.

We are looking for Field Mom applicants to be:

- Honest about your background and experiences.
- Willing to voice your questions among peers and farmers.
- Able to attend up to five (5) day-long farm tours over the next year, including one possible overnight tour. For most tours, you’ll leave the greater Chicago area at 8 a.m. and return about 6 p.m.
- Able to arrange childcare on farm tour days.
- Willing to have yourself and your family be featured as tour participants. This includes:
Having your videos, photos, comments and experiences featured on Watch Us Grow.
Participating in media interviews
Blogging about your experiences
Appearing in other publicity materials developed for the Field Mom program
- Willing to record and download your experiences on Illinois Family Farm tours with a video camera provided by Illinois Farm Families.
- Committed to writing a journal and blog entries about your farm tour experiences for Watch Us Grow, Twitter and Facebook.
- Willing to give permission for a background check if you’re selected as a Field Mom.
- Able to meet the application deadline of August 21, 2011.
