    Renga-Tei is a GNR

and a restaurant that the Evanston Lunch Group has not visited en masse.

We plan to remedy that situation on Thursday, July 21. Please join us for lunch at 12:30 pm -- all are welcome!

Just for the record, I return to Chicago on August 24. If the August gathering is on Thursday August 25th or later, I will be there. Count this as a threat or an opportunity as you wish.

that time of year again--if I'm not headed to Jeffersonville, IN for a baseball tournament, count me it. Will update status on Monday (or earlier if we lose) when I'll know for sure. Been wanting to try this place!!

If it wasn't the same day as the Green City BBQ, I'd be there in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, I'll be in training for later indulgence and have to miss this lunch.

Yeah, that's my issue, too. Still, I know I'm not going to skip lunch (lol) but I'm not sure if I'll have time for a long lunch, since I'll be leaving the office early for the GCM event.

I haven't been to Renga Tei in years. I will attempt to make this lunch.

I know this will be a stupid question before I even ask it, but:

Does the Evanston Lunch Group ever meet for dinner?

Then they'd need to make new membership cards. :D

Incite--Hope you can make our lunch at Renga-Tei!

As far as I know, the Evanston Lunch Group has not had a dinner outing, although I've certainly had dinner with some of the regular ELG attendees, but as part of a larger LTH gathering. That said, my knowledge goes back only 4 years, while the ELG's history goes back to at least 2004.

If you can make it to lunch, we can certainly discuss this idea further. Look forward to seeing you!

LTH North cares more about the food and company than membership cards. It's in our bylaws. :D

Much as it kills me since I VERY much want to try this place, I know it's not a good idea to do a lunch like this on the same day as the GCM BBQ in 100+ degree heat. Oh well....enjoy and hope to make it for another one.

I'll try to get there early tomorrow, but just in case, the reservation is under "Forum."
