Chicago's Sweet Candy History - 2/9 - 7pm Northbrook Library

Candies made in Chicago – the Candy Capital of America – include Brach's caramels, Mars Snickers bars, Wrigley's gum, Cracker Jack, Curtiss Baby Ruth bars, Tootsie Rolls, Frango Mints and Dove chocolates. Leslie Goddard will discuss the history behind these tasty treats and explore what made Chicago such a powerful location for candymakers.

Hi,

I will likely be at this program this evening. I have hired Leslie Goddard to be in character as Bertha Palmer, Jacqueline Kennedy and a few others. She has a mixed discipline PhD of history and performance art. She is quite talented.

This will be the first time I hear her simply offer a presentation. I look forward to it.
