Despite rumors passed along by some of my Minions, the LTH North Lunch Group is alive and well. We shall reconvene for some deep fried and smoky goodness at LTH North and GNR favorite:

I plan to attend. Always a joy to visit with Dino, who is now too busy to visit!

I've been making regular visits to Capt. Porky's lately. While I tend to steer clear of the BBQ items, the fish is still top notch. If Deno has bluegills in stock, be sure to order some. Sadly, I'm going to miss this outing. I'll be tied up with work and can't get free that day.

I'll do my best to be there but the first day back to work after a long weekend probably isn't going to work out for me. If you need a definite answer, please let me know.

Hey gang - current price for unleaded across the street from lunch is $3.83/gallon. Another good reason for you city folk to trek on up and join us for lunch tomorrow. :D

    Hi,

Just over the border , which is so darn close. I paid $3.69 yesterday near Lake Geneva. I learned from Captain Porky's the best deal is purchasing gas for cash at Woodman's on Rt 50.

    Hi,

Helen will be attending as well.

We will be early or just in time, because we will be dropping off a donation in Waukgan.

    So how was this?
I so badly wanted to join you, but was trapped by deadlines--so I was looking forward to living a little vicariously through your reports back. 8)

Food and company were quite good. We ordered a smorgasbord of fishy delights, along with an order of rib tips. IMO - the greens were a disappointment. I'll stick with my recommendation of shrimp being the favorite item of choice. We also had an order of homemade bread and (I think) feta cheese.

Now I need to rack my brain to figure out next month's destination. 8)
