8th Annual Corks & Crayons to Benefit Purple Asparagus

Thought LTH'ers might be interested in our upcoming fundraiser:

Corks & Crayons is Purple Asparagus’ signature, annual, fun for all ages event. Taking place in the gorgeous Greenhouse Loft, this year’s event will feature tastings from some of Chicago’s top chefs including Top Chef Contestants Heather Terhune (Sable) and Richie Farina (Moto), and Mindy Segal, winner of the 2012 James Beard Award for Outstanding Pastry (Hot Chocolate). We’ll also be featuring Three Floyds brews, cocktails with Templeton Rye whiskey, and Candid Wines. In addition, we'll have several delicious non-alcoholic beverages, including Rishi Iced Tea.

During the event there will be multiple activities to keep everyone entertained including a mini farmer’s market, tours of the LEED Certified Green Exchange, a photo booth, an art experience from A Muse, a silent auction, and raffle prize drawings.

Corks & Crayons is Purple Asparagus’ annual fundraiser. 100% of the proceeds from this auction benefit Purple Asparagus, an all-volunteer not-for-profit that educates children, families, and the community about eating that’s good for the body and the planet. We bring delicious, nutritious hands-on adventures to schools, community organizations, and farmers markets throughout Chicagoland. Purple Asparagus, winner of the 2012 International Association of Culinary Professionals Culinary Youth Advocate award, helps thousands of school children throughout Chicagoland learn better eating habits through their flagship program, Delicious Nutritious Adventures. Proceeds from the Corks & Crayons event directly support Purple Asparagus’ educational programs.

Ticket Prices:
Adults (age 19 and up) = $70
Child (ages 5 to 18) = $15
Children 5 & under are free

Parking:
Street parking is available on Diversey, along with parking spots on the east side of the Green Exchange. A paid lot is also available at the Regal Cinema (corner of Shubert and Campbell) for $2 a day.
