I can't speak to "Miracle berries", but
The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, although not food-related, is a remarkable book about the human origins of one of the most important medical research tools ever, the cell line HeLa. Well-written and researched, it would be worth attending just to hear Ms. Skloot.
Cheers, Jen
P.S. What the heck is up with miracle berries anyway? Totally messing up your sense of taste should, in my opinion, be considered a red flag.
