In recent years, a couple of soul food places have opened up in the odd mix of stores, offices, pawn shops, spiritualists, union halls, and funeral parlors that is North Avenue in Galewood. Myself and a few others have tried the one at Oak Park Avenue, pretty decent, I think the consensus is, but tradition dictates that at some point, we also try this other place too. Noted Oak Park banker, Robert "Teat" Fox, has been especially insistent that we go there as part of our manly activities.
So, the Oak Park Boys, the few fressers left, will be sampling the soul food at 6978 Soul Food (conveniently the address of the place on North Ave) next Thursday, May 15, at 7 PM.
Hopefully, you can join.
