Due to lack of a coup d'etat, I think I'm still Esteemed Coordinator of this group.

Feel free to verbally abuse me over a plate of baba ghanoush & chicken shawarma at:

    Firewood Kabob
    1663 N Buffalo Grove Rd.
    Buffalo Grove, IL 60089
    (847) 793-8500
Southeast corner of Aptakisic & Buffalo Grove Rd.

I've never been to Firewood. The LTH Brethren - viewtopic.php?p=503495#p503495 - along with my wife pronounce this spot quite good. Let's check it out. As always, bring a friend.

    Hi,

I plan to attend, very likely with my friend Helen.

    Regards,

I'd very much love to attend, but alas, I'll be away on business.

While I won't be able to attend -- I'll be driving home from visiting mom in Michigan on the 27th -- I do want to thank you for continuing this. I definitely enjoy these outings and look forward to one when I'm available.

Lunch and company were both good. Most of us had the lunch special of the Firewood Platter.

They are in the process of updating their menu. There was a sign near the cash register apologizing that they were having some "equipment" issues. Baba Ghanoush and one or two other items weren't available for some reason.

How does it compare to some of the other popular places that serve similar food -- for example, Pita Inn or Mizrahi Grill? Pita Inn is a little closer for me, but is this worth a few extra miles (assuming I don't have the lovely company you enjoyed on your outing)?
