Vanillekipferl - Join LTH's Ms. Ingie as she lends her expertise and traditional know-how to a special Holiday Baking Class at the DANK Haus German American Cultural Center. In Bavarian Austria and parts of Germany, Christmas would not be Christmas without Vanillekipferl, a traditional holiday baked treat comparable to an American, crescent-shaped Christmas cookie made with almonds. Vanillekipferl relies on vanilla for its flavoring, and skilled hands in its baking. A deft, light touch helps create the "kipferl' or horseshoe shape without breaking the biscuit.
Please join your friends at DANK to learn Ingrid's secrets for creating this wonderful holiday treat. Recipes will be provided, so that you can bake them at home, for a traditional holiday cookie swap, or to give as a homemade gift.
The class fee of $12 includes hands-on instruction, recipes, a drink from the bar, camaraderie, and of course, generous samplings!
