the gluten-free cookies, vanilla and orange/ancho pepper, came from alice medrich's latest all gluten -free cookbook, 'flavor flours'. oops, need to add they're called oat sables, pages 128-129

I did my best to try every soup but somehow missed Cathy2's root vegetable concoction and the Local Foods potato soup. Across the board, everything I tried was fantastic. Excellent job everyone!

Thanks, everyone, for the tremendous effort. And a special thanks to Jen, for coordinating with Martha to make it happen once again this year. Personally, I thought it was our best showing. The soups were fantastic across the board.

Cathy's soup was delicious as was the coconut and kale soup by mbh.

The florentine's were awesome and I could not stop eating justjoan's creamcheese brownies and those orange gluten-free cookies are in for cookie baking for me if they are easy. They were delicious!

Thanks Jen for all of your efforts organizing - great time as usual, and I loved the soups . . . a fantastic variety too.

Desserts were also excellent - yes on the florentines. Joan, your contributions were delicious too . . . anytime you can make me eat gluten free or vegan, you've done something right! Izzy & Dave, enjoyed your muffins & cookies too (didn't get a chance to try the slaw though). I left tired from serving lots o' chowda, but full from all the delicious soups and sweets . . . can't wait 'til next year.

I see several of the dessert folks posted recipes--unfortunately, I'm not sure she'll post those--typically, it's only the soups, though I will include these when I send to her.

making 3-4 gallons of soup is a seriously daunting task: one i haven't wanted to take on. i respect all the soup makers' efforts and appreciated the results, even if 2 of the soups were tooooo spicy for me... thank you so much for all your hard work.
