The six of us had a pleasant lunch at Al-Watan Grill, a new Pakistani restaurant (with an all-American menu of pizza and hamburgers as well) in Skokie.
The food was pleasant enough, but not a destination restaurant. However, the eggplant special was, well, special, and worth ordering again. The other dishes were the standards. Service was a little slow, but pleasant.
Toast, as every breakfaster knows, isn't really about the quality of the bread or how it's sliced or even the toaster. For man cannot live by toast alone. It's all about the butter. -- Adam Gopnik
